The Why: A few years ago, one could probably say Piolo Pascual would've been the numero uno leading man. But since this is a list made in 2010, one has to consider the lack of recent successful projects to back this claim. At the same time, even with the lack of success his extreme popularity among women despite rumors that hound him is a testament to the brand that he's built for himself. To be fair, his career seems to be in another upswing, but I wonder if he'd be able to recapture the magic he had with Judy Ann Santos that made him a household name in the industry and at the same time, made so many fans scream and shell out money to watch their movies. THE one and only Papa P., the  Ultimate Heartthrob of the Philippines conquered the entertainment industry once again. In his recent mega box office movie Starting Over Again, he retained his stature as a bankable actor, box office producer, in-demand product endorser and a multi-platinum recording star. Piolo Pascual is a phenomenal artist in this generation.

I am so impressed by his perseverance and dedication to his profession. Success is a word that can easily be defined by everyone. But, it always takes a lot of hard work and passion to reach an evenly successful life. Piolo Pascual knew his destiny and therefore worked to achieve his long time dream of becoming a renowned actor.

Piolo’s father was a casting director for international films that were shot here in the Philippines. He was introduced in the world of theatre and acting when he joined his father’s school theatre group, Teatro ni Kiko.

During his high school years, he started appearing in That’s Entertainment in the 90’s. Piolo eventually left showbiz to focus on his college studies at the University of Sto. Tomas. In 1996, he migrated to the US together with his family.

Piolo worked as an ER representative. When he turned 21, he decided to return to Manila and pursue a showbiz career. His love team with Judy Ann Santos included big hits like Kahit Isang Saglit, Bakit Di Totohanin, Till There Was You, and Don’t Give Up on Us.

The Why: He's leading the pack with a bevy of endorsement deals, numerous box-office hits, and starring roles in high rating teleseryes. He slowly transformed himself to a bankable leading man from his days as Rovic in Tabing Ilog. His success was tied to the Bea Alonzo-John Lloyd love team, but with the success of the Sarah Geronimo-John Lloyd love team, one has to consider already that he might just have needed flexibility to be able to carry a film on his own. He was once the King of Teleseryes and Kristine Hermosa his Queen. But once that love team ended, he's had a bevy of hit or miss projects. His version of Panday only received a lukewarm response from the audience. Recently though, he's started the journey back to the top. His recent legal drama was a hit. He's been bagging more endorsement deals and is definitely on his way to reclaim that matinee idol title he once held. It helps his cause that he's quite popular in other Asian countries because of "Pangako Sa'yo" and he probably knows better now.

Engaged celebrity couple Jericho Rosales and Kim Jones was a picture of pure happiness as they entered Teatrino hand-in-hand to watch the first of Gary Valenciano’s eight “Tuesdays with Gary” shows.

In one word, Jericho “Echo” Rosales eloquently summed up his feeling about his engagement to Fil-Brit model/TV host Kim Jones, his girlfriend of more than two years. November 2013 unang lumabas ang bali-balitang nakabuntis si Mark na siyang dahilan ng breakup nila ni Ynna Asistio.

Kabuntot din nito ang haka-hakang isang 32-year-old senior handler diumano ang ina ng anak ni Mark.

Hindi namatay ang isyu dahil nito namang January 2014 ay kumalat ang balitang suportado ni Mark ang bata, na nitong nakaraang Pasko ay kasama pa ni Mark ang kanyang anak.

Xian Lim

Xian Lim is leaving no stone unturned to take advantage of the good impression he made as Kim Chiu’s consort in “My Binondo Girl.” However, the dashing newcomer just might be spreading himself too thin by taking on projects with degrees of difficulty that require greater skill and experience. Take “So It’s You,” the heartthrob’s five-track hit debut album. He acquits himself well in his self-penned love songs, “Puso Kong Hibang” and the short but sweet “Ako’y Sa ‘Yo Lamang” (from “My Binondo Girl”), because their vocal requirements are right up his alley.
